I'm Sacha-Gabriel, but everyone calls me Sasha
My passions are learning, challenging and exploring. Always looking for better ways to get stuff done. Keeping things simple, making them brilliant, growing if they break.
As a deaf person, my entire life has been a series of challenges. My difference has strengthened my sense of observation and made it a real asset for my career. My main professional goal is to expand the range of my skills in the world of Visual Effects, mainly as a Compositing Artist.
Currently working at Framestore London. I studied VFX and Animation at ARTFX - School of Digital Arts, in Montpellier, France. I have a scientific mind, but I also started taking judo and speech therapy classes when I was a kid.
I did my first VFX on live-action when I was 9 (after watching first Dragon Ball Z animated films). Since then, I haven’t stopped learning and improving my skills. Currently, I use Nuke and Maya but I have used After Effects, Digital Fusion and Final Cut in the past. Node-based softwares for the win!

Senior Compositor - Framestore, London
I haven't had the pleasure to work together with Sasha in any project, but I am sitting next to him and I had multiple occasions to talk to him, show him setups and looking at his work. Since the very first day, I noticed that he is a very curious artist, always ready to learn new stuff and very interested in all the working topics. I had the chance to have a look at his working scripts and rendered shots, and I can tell he was always very organized and tidy. He knew what he was doing! He has a great attitude, it's always nice to have interactions with him and I hope he will reach his aspirations.
Senior Compositor - Framestore, London
I met Sasha when he joined Framestore months ago, we are together on Paddington 3. Very much enjoying getting to know him. He seems like the compositor that will happily accept new increasing challenges going forward. Compositing wise seems to me very knowledgeable and he is doing beautiful work with the bears, highlight for me is a medium shot with Aunt Lucy (giving the marmalade sandwich to the baby Paddington) and it is a great addition to the team. He is a fun guy! And I'm looking forward to working with him again.
VFX Line Producer - Framestore, London
It has been incredibly lovely having Sasha on Paddington 3. He is always cheery and positive which as a great influence on everyone else on the show. Sasha is always first to say good morning to everyone and continues to be very communicative throughout the day whether that's with leads, supes or production. He is never afraid to ask questions or check in with production about his targets and it's always an absolute pleasure. His shot work has been fantastic and he always comes to the sessions prepared to present his work in the best way possible. He has worked wonderfully with Patrick Burke (Lead Compositor) for any assistance and I can quite honestly say it's really nice to see the two of them working together as a team. I have no constructive feedback to give for Sasha, he is a genuine pleasure to work with and I look forward to working with him again in future as he progresses through his comp career.
Head of Development - ARTFX School, Montpellier
During his 4th and 5th year at ARTFX, I have followed the work that Sasha have done for different graduated film projects. His position helped him to analyse and solve lots of problems during these 2 years. I want to congrat him for his Master degree and recommand his job quality and expertise.
Lead Compositor - Framestore, London
Sasha was a pleasure to work with, very joyful and with good communication skills for someone's that is that young in the industry, he was not afraid of asking questions and details on the tasks he was assigned to. That helped him in learning quickly and effectively how to navigate through the pipeline, and adapt to how things were done at Framestore compositing's department. That quickly made me (and the whole team) consider Sasha no longer as an intern, but as an useful colleague and artist we could rely on safely.
CG Supervisor - MPC Film & Episodic, Paris
Sasha completed an internship with us here working in the Film and Episodic department. He was able to learn quickly, and displayed a good level as an intern, being able to complete the compositing tasks assigned to him and find solutions for tasks that were not always completely straight forward. He has a good approach to work and is easy to get along with too.
