Contributed to the shot work for various compositing tasks to integrate Paddington and Aunt Lucy into the plates. I also dealt with numerous edge issues on the defocused leaves to clean them up, as they were part of the background elements.
To match what’s happening with the Brown family when the rain starts in the jungle in the original scans, I focussed on setting up our custom 2D effects in Nuke. Using pMatte*, I created a wet map on Paddington’s coat and hat with noise shuffles—referencing the on-set water matte for grading. I also added 3D droplet particles sticking to the hat and falling from it as it got wetter. Further tweaks were made, including adding some breakup to the specular layer provided by the FX department as a secondary layer.
I also helped out the team in completing and delivering a number of tech fixes** ensuring the shots were technically sound after client approval.

(*) Internal tool that allows an artist to utilize the Pobject layer in an utility to create a matte in a specific area of the CG.
(**) Shots that are creatively approved by the client but still have remaining tech fixes that need to be done.
